New Nissan Terrano Versus Renault Duster

New Nissan Terrano Versus Renault Duster

The reliable, robust and easy to drive SUV, Renault Duster is already ruling million hearts. This powerful drive has become a prime choice for all those enthusiasts who love driving a vehicle with off-road capabilities. It’s compact dimensions, short overhangs, big clearance angles, high ground clearance and reinforced underbody that is apt for all terrain use. All these features just make you fall in love with this exalted SUV.

And now Nissan has come up with Terrano, which is again a compact SUV or you can say, a beautified and glorified version of Renault Duster. But do you really think that Nissan is injudicious enough to invest his money in a product that is already ruling the market. Well, if you really think so, give it a second thought and read further about this brand new Nissan Terrano.

Duster vs. Terrano – Judging By The Looks

The new design philosophy seen on the latest models of Nissan SUVs’ can be seen in Terrano, as well. As compared to the simple and plain Renault Duster, Terrano has a more aggressive SUV look. Let’s check out what’s more with the looks of this robust and reliable SUV.

  • The pair of chrome slashes on the grille is a distinctive element and symbolizes the brand identity. The large grille and honeycomb mesh design is very modern and gives the vehicle a bold look.
  • The sporty and sleek black bezel surround trapezoidal shaped headlights that get narrowed at the outer ends and form an edgy front end. The highlighting creases on the bonnet and door panels give it a very sophisticated look.
  • Fat wheel arches, diamond cut machine alloyed wheels and body colored bumpers with nominal black cladding add muscle to the car and at the same time, make it a Premium style SUV. The large taillights are a combination of elegance and sportiness.
  • The dual tone beige interiors with black top dashboard and dual tone seat fabric, not only add style and comfort to the car, but also add to the aesthetics of the vehicle.

Terrano in Performance

Just like other SUVs’ like Duster, EcoSport and Quanto, a 1.5 litre dCi engine powers the Terrano and gives a rated output of 110 PS power at 3900 RPM along with 248 Nm at 2250 RPM. However, the 1.6 litre petrol engine in Terrano produces 104 PS power at 5850 RPM along with a torque of 145 Nm at 3750 RPM. Nissan has recently told the reporters that if the demand increases, they would most likely come up with the CVT (automatic).

The Flipside

Enthusiasts may love this robust vehicle, but for commuters, it is going to be a little cumbersome, especially while using in a busy and metropolitan city. The heavy steering and more of parking related issues, particularly when there are space constraints make it a little inconvenient. But the additional safety feature, where Nissan offers driver side airbag that is standard across the range definitely attracts thumbs up. With all these features and fuel efficiency plus good line up of gearboxes, Terrano is ready to impress the people and get onto roads soon.
