Two years ago I discovered a simple idea that doesn’t require much work or critical thinking. Selling books came to mind when I went in to the bookstore at the university I was attending at the time. First, you have to understand one more thing about me. I am a bargain shopper. As soon as I stepped into the bookstore, there was a display of books on sale right in the middle of the walkway. It could not have been more of a barrier.

With suppliers doing your packing and shipping, you are not burdened with finding space to store inventory around your living room. Look up from your computer and visualize a thousand books sitting on the floor. Now visualize that being in a warehouse and someone else de-shelving it and mailing it for you.
As I promised, I have circulated back to my first point. Regardless of its location, you have to build up inventory. Please, do your research. Sell the exact books you already have in your home. Chances are you have self-help books and books of some specialization. Shy away from novels and fiction.
When I started selling books, I visited my college bookstore and purchased brand new books for $1.00 each and sold them for between $1.99 and $15.00. I purchased books by the lot from Craigslist.com, at yard sales, and garage sales for dirt cheap, threw away the older ones, and resold the better ones.
